Feel healthy and beautiful in your own skin
Acne Treatment
Acne can occur at any age–and often at exactly the wrong moment. This problem is typically challenging to defeat on your own. Fortunately, new therapeutic advances have made it possible to bring even the most stubborn cases of acne under control and reduce the scars of old flare-ups.
At Advanced Dermatology and Laser Institute of Seattle, we offer individualized, highly effective acne treatments. To ensure the very best results, we often recommend a combination of clinically proven therapies.
Acne Treatments Available at Advanced Dermatology of Seattle
Chemical Peels
Glycolic, salicylic acid and other chemicals can help unplug skin pores by removing dead cells, as well as whiteheads and blackheads. These treatments also help generate new skin growth.
HydraFacial
The HydraFacial is a sophisticated, medical-grade treatment that infuses water molecules into your skin. It cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates, using peptides, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid. It is ideal for the acne patient who has a noticeable component of whiteheads, blackheads and enlarged pores.
Phototherapy (Intense Pulsed Light treatments)
Exposing skin to special light can help destroy the bacterium (P. acnes) that contributes to acne inflammations. Some light therapies use blue light; other treatments that are used include Levulan applications followed by photoactivation with a light source.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapies zap and destroy overzealous sebaceous glands in the dermis, or thick middle layer of the skin, without damaging the skin’s surface. Some lasers also promote the growth of collagen (the skin’s natural “filler”), thus helping to “plump up” acne scars. Seattle’s Advanced Dermatology and Laser Institute utilizes several types of state-of-the-art lasers specifically designed for the treatment of acne.
Medical Acne Facial
Following a prescribed home care regimen, combined with Medical facials, is essential in the management of acne. Our acne facials will help with clogged pores, reduce bacteria and inflammation, diminish post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and help minimize oil production to keep the skin at its best. Treatments are recommended every 3-4 weeks or in-between peels.
